SuperKat
A downloadable game for Windows
Superkat is a 3D Action, Adventure Platformer where you play as a Monstrous Yet Cute Cat, Destroying Stuff and Creating Chaos around Poly City.
Fiend or Friend, You decide.
-----------
SuperKat is a 48 Hour project created solo for SA GAME JAM 2025.
Submission: Hobbyist, Diversity.
GamePlay
3D Action Platformer.
Theme: "You are The Monster"
Monster can mean many things, but in this instance, it just means they are ridiculously strong. Hence, SuperKat was Born, a Monster of a Cat.

More Info about the development below
I woke up one day and thought, "Hey, let's do that game jam thingy my Socials keep hammering me about".
So the Theme Dropped, and then I decided to make a game about a Menacing, monstrous cat that destroys people's mail*, internet*, and the "Friendly" Alien Tourists in the city.
(I probably won't be able to update the game with all those ideas, but hey, that's how these things go sometimes.)
What did I learn about this project...That render textures in HDRP bug out when you try to build a project with a Botched instance, lol, (I wasted a day fixing that).
99% Worth It.
-----------
Categories I built my game around:
Technical Excellence - You have no Idea how many Systems I was able to program in here. This includes some of my own AI path-finding I previously made, and no, just before anyone asks, no Generative AI was used here.
Just my own project systems, Unity Market Place assets, FreeSound.org sounds, Mixamo assets, Quixel Bridge Assets, and Paid assets like Crest and GeNA, and my own 3D modelling (Like the Aliens and the Cat were all modelled by me) were used to make this game, all the Code, like the Combat System and Triggers etc. are 100% me.
Best Narrative - I think the World is Immersive enough to tell a good story.
Best Humour - It's a Cat with Lazer Beams, Killing what some would say "Innocent Aliens".
Hobbyist - Believe it or not, yes, I don't work in a studio, so I'm 100% Han Solo, just ask Chewbacca, he can vouch for me. I wouldn't consider myself a Pro.
Diversity? Oh, right, I'm brown *cough "A person of Colour", but am I Gay?
No. Disabilities? Maybe, possibly, does having 2 legs count?
--------
PS. This is My First Game Jam. I don't do these usually, because I think good games take time, but I used this Competition to really push my delivery time, and create some brand-new Systems for my Personal Projects.
"Winning was never my goal"
Conclusion:
It was great seeing a lot of Talented developers in SA, really create some interesting Ideas. It gives me an idea of our current progress in the industry.
Thank you guys, and I definitely hope to see some returning devs in the future, next year.
If you played my Game, thank you again. I appreciate it.
Now, time to catch up on some sleep.

The fact that this didn't win for Technical Excellence is strange. Coincidence? I think not. What kind of Developer makes a detailed open world...and with lasers too, within 48 hours?
Ok, I am joking, but this project was an experiment to see if my world-building skills are up to the test of the actual project I have in mind...I have 2 mountains to climb and 3 years.
Let's see if I can peak. (I'm going to die, lol).
